Correction and Retraction
POST-PUBLICATION DISCUSSION, CORRECTION, AND RETRACTION POLICY
Hulondalo Jurnal Ilmu Pemerintahan dan Ilmu Komunikasi (HJIPIK) is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the scholarly record. The journal welcomes constructive academic dialogue and addresses post-publication concerns in accordance with Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines.
- POST-PUBLICATION DISCUSSION
HJIPIK welcomes evidence-based critiques, methodological evaluations, and replication assessments concerning published articles.
- Submission: Inquiries should be sent to the editorial office with the subject line Post-Publication Discussion: [Article Title / DOI], detailing specific passages, supporting empirical evidence, and declarations of competing interests.
- Process: Editors evaluate scholarly relevance and invite original authors to submit a rejoinder. Validated discussions and responses may be published as linked scholarly correspondence.
- CORRECTIONS (ERRATA / CORRIGENDA)
Corrections resolve errors or omissions that do not compromise the principal findings or conclusions of a study (e.g., typographical errors, author affiliation updates, funding disclosures, or non-fatal numerical corrections).
- A formal, dated Correction Notice will be published, bidirectionally linked to the original article.
- Updated full-text versions will transparently document changes; silent corrections are strictly prohibited.
- EXPRESSIONS OF CONCERN
Editors may issue an Expression of Concern when credible, significant concerns regarding research validity or integrity emerge, but investigations remain inconclusive or are prolonged. This alerts readers while inquiries proceed.
- RETRACTIONS
Guided by COPE Retraction Guidelines, retractions are reserved for articles with compromised reliability, serious ethical breaches, pervasive plagiarism, data fabrication/falsification, or unapproved duplicate publication.
- Retractions serve to correct the scholarly record, not to impose individual punishment.
- A formal Retraction Notice will be published, detailing the rationale and indicating whether authors concurred with the decision.
- TREATMENT OF RETRACTED ARTICLES
Retracted articles are not removed from the OJS archive. The original PDF and article metadata remain publicly accessible but are indelibly watermarked with "RETRACTED" on every page and linked directly to the retraction notice.
- ARTICLE REMOVAL
Complete content removal is restricted to extraordinary circumstances involving severe legal violations, court orders, critical infringements of privacy rights, or public safety threats. In such instances, the bibliographic metadata remains, accompanied by a formal explanation of removal.
- AUTHOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND APPEALS
Authors must immediately alert the editors upon discovering substantive post-publication errors. Editorial appeals against retractions or notices are evaluated only upon the presentation of substantial, verifiable new evidence via HJIPIK's Complaints and Appeals procedure.
