Post-Publication Discussion

POST-PUBLICATION DISCUSSION POLICY

Hulondalo Jurnal Ilmu Pemerintahan dan Ilmu Komunikasi (HJIPIK) welcomes evidence-based scholarly discussion regarding its published articles. Readers, researchers, and practitioners are encouraged to submit methodological inquiries, alternative analytical interpretations, replication outcomes, or substantive critical observations through the editorial office.

  1. SUBMITTING A SCHOLARLY COMMENT

Submissions must be sent to HJIPIK’s official editorial email and must include:

  • The title and official DOI of the referenced article.
  • A concise, focused scholarly rationale supported by concrete evidence, analytical arguments, or relevant literature.
  • A full disclosure of any potential competing interests.

Comments must focus strictly on the scholarship rather than personal characteristics of the authors. Submissions must clearly distinguish between demonstrated empirical errors, unresolved inquiries, and differing academic interpretations. Confidential or identifiable participant information must not be included.

  1. EDITORIAL CONSIDERATION AND AUTHOR RESPONSE

Editors evaluate the submission based on academic relevance, clarity, empirical support, and contribution to governance and communication studies.

  • Author Response: Original authors will typically be invited to provide a formal rebuttal or explanatory response.
  • Editorial Impartiality: An author's disagreement does not grant them veto power over legitimate academic criticism. Conversely, scholarly disagreement alone does not automatically necessitate the publication of a commentary.
  • External Scholarly Discussions: Legitimate issues raised on reputable post-publication platforms (e.g., PubPeer) may also be taken into consideration when formally brought to the editors' attention.
  1. PUBLICATION AND ASSESSMENT STATUS
  • Publication Format: Where deemed appropriate, approved comments and author rejoinders will be published as linked scholarly correspondence directly referencing the original article.
  • Review Status: Editorially evaluated correspondence is distinctly identified and is not presented as having undergone standard external double-blind peer review.
  • Full Research Contributions: Submissions presenting novel datasets or full-scale empirical studies must be submitted as regular manuscripts following standard peer-review workflows.
  • Open Discourse: This policy does not impede lawful academic discourse or reuse under the applicable Creative Commons license outside the journal platform.
